You fly the ship

SolCraft begins with a simple promise: you fly the ship.

Throttle sets your intent, steering pulls the velocity toward the nose with a little drift, and boost asks you to commit to the line. The ship banks visually as it turns, engine flares answer the throttle, and articulated turrets track the point under your cursor. The camera stays tilted above the action, close enough to read a fight and wide enough to choose an approach.

Under that immediate feel is a server-authoritative simulation running at 30 Hz. The client predicts your own flight, reconciles against the server, and interpolates everybody else. Interest management keeps each connection focused on the part of the system it can actually observe.

Combat, mining, docking, warp, and jump travel all grew from that same foundation. SolCraft can become a large persistent sandbox without turning the pilot into a passenger.
